Wednesday 14th

With our heads still buzzing after the excitement of yesterday, we all got onto the bus at 7am this morning and made for the Tucson Airport. Today is a full day of travel to San Antonio, Texas with a short stopover to change planes in Dallas.
We checked in and all seemed quite okay. We each received our two boarding passes for the two flights and off we went.  Now, this is where we learned a bit more about travel and its surprises. It was Andrew that pointed out the fact that his boarding pass for the Tucson to Dallas flight did not have a seat number. (Would have been nice if somebody told us). It turns out the flight was overbooked and 3 of us (me, Andrew and Dave) did not have seats. Long story short, American Airlines then proceed to buy back seats from people and paid them $500 each ( a ticket is only worth around $100). We did get our seats in the end, with Dave getting his at the very last minute.

So here they are waiting for their names to be called for seat allocation.

A chance for the guys to catch up on what is going on back at home and share some stories....

We all arrived in Dallas with a bit of time to get something to eat for lunch before catching the flight to San Antonio.

Our American plane waiting for us

When we arrived, the bus driver was waiting, ready to go. Outside it was a wonderful 33degC.
Our bus in front of the Westin Hotel.

Checking into the hotel at 4:30. It was a full day's travel of lugging heavy cases and taking shoes and belts off for security. We also lost 2 hrs in time difference.

Around 5pm we met at the front of the hotel for a bit of a chat and getting ready to find somewhere to have dinner.

Looking for a place to have dinner. So many to choose from .... While looking we also did some shopping.

But we finally found The Original Mexican Restaurant and enjoyed a very large meal.

Back to the hotel by 9:20 and called it a day.  Today has been a bit more quiet. A lot of reflection and re-living the last couple of days. The full day travel was a good opportunity to look over all the photo's and just let it all sink in.
Tomorrow we visit the HOLT dealership here in San Antonio.  Looking forward to have some good stuff to share on that visit.
