Thursday 15th

8:00am and everybody is on the bus.  Had a quick minute to take a photo and off we went to visit HOLT.

Arriving there, we find Francis who was extremely helpful in finding out who we are supposed to meet with.
She certainly left a great first impression in how she quickly managed to get the right people to help us out.
We met Bob Harwood, General Sales Manager who quickly took care of us all and started the morning with a DVD on HOLT.

Bob then passed us onto Chad Godfrey, the Machine Service Manager. Chad took us through the general workshop..

Matt quickly found something that he liked ...

We met Clay who told us about their Technician of the Month awards. Technician is selected based on a voting process by their piers of set criteria. Clay won this award two weeks ago.

The Service Technician of the Month recognition board for both shop and field.

Lots of flags everywhere we went ....

We wandered off take a look at the CCE shop, where Matt and Jason decided to lend the boys a hand and show them how it is done down under...

But is was not long before they all sniffed out what they really wanted to see.....

Andrew can't decide between the one from Tinaja or this one ...

Jason would take either, but thought he had a better chance of parking this one at home.

They all met up with Dave, one of the field service technicians. At first he looked a bit apprehensive with the group charging towards him, but once he realised who they were, he was more than happy to talk to them.

Just another picture of a truck ...

.. . and a close-up of the plates.

What could Jason possibly have discovered this time, to cause the huge grin ??

......  he found out the field service truck has a C7 engine

Some more chatting with Dave before he needs to go and fix something.  I think I heard someone say that we all have the same customer.

And of course, a final momento of the group.

Some lube trucks.....

And then Matt discovered something else he liked ...  a bitsa

Quick look around the trackshop.  They have 2 field repair technicians working in the group.

Left the track shop and found a slight distraction ...

Accross the road was the engine rebuild facitily, which was where we were headed.

On the way , something caught everyone's attention

coming down the road .....

And another distraction .....

We had a look through the tear-down area and machining before going through the final engine assembly area.

They found this toolbox complete with radio and cooler.

Matt throught the shop was that spotless and the floor clean enought to eat from .....

Outside a Tier 4 C15 Engine was waiting for them ..

After great difficulty we finally managed to drag them away and make our way back to the bus.

But yet another distraction in the way.  This one made Colin go very very pale .....

He really did try his best to stop them all. Even put his body on the line ....

But luckily, there were more distractions to make them forget about where they were going. Here is one that Jason found

And one that Andrew and Dave found

Finaly and reluctant to leave, we were all back on the bus to get to the airport. We left with a HOLT cap and other goodies they gave us.  Somehow we managed to depart without leaving any of our guys behind or finding any of their guys hiding in our bus.

Another airport, another check-in line, another security screening etc etc etc

We arrived in Dallas and then onto another bus.  Guess who was having a snooze this time. Oh, yes, the same guy as always.

We were heading for the Fort Worth Stockyards and got to our hotel

with just enough time to for a walk, stretch out the legs and see what the locals are up to

I found a couple of people diligently cleaning the iron ore from their boots, ready for tomorrow's dealer visit

We all met at the hotel lobby to go for dinner, and at least some of us made some effort to blend in. Must have been the extra sleep he had on the bus.

We had to follow the directions to the place of food ...

And watch out for the traffic on the way ...

A little bit of country music ...

Some steak ..

Some dreaming of becoming a cowboy ...

AND THEN THE DREAM COMING TRUE ....   YEEHAW !!

With all that exitement and good information learned from the visit to Holt, it was time to slow it down..

and call it a day.

Tomorrow we flying to Jacksonville to visit the Ringpower dealership.  All bodies must be on the bus at 5am.
